~ Smoky BBQ Ribs ~
This recipe is just for the sauce I use on my ribs when I bake them. Use your favorite type of ribs and cooking technique. If you're using really thick ribs, I suggest cooking them without the sauce for half the time, pouring the sauce over the ribs, and finish baking.
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons margarine
1 cup ketchup
1 cup water
1/3 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
In a small saucepan, saute the onion in margarine until translucent. Then add all of the remaining ingredients. Stir, bring to a boil, and then reduce heat. Cook until thickened, about 10 - 15 minutes.
